LDS chapel / SUD capillas

If you wonder if there is LDS chapels in Tortola, the answer is YES! there is ONE little branch in the whole island. It is located on the third floor of the Virgin Queen Restaurant in road town we meet from 10am- 12pm, is so small that the only room they have it divided into four after sacrament meeting. First and third Sunday we have Relief Society / priesthood, second and fourth Sunday we have Sunday school. We only have two hours of services.
The primary meets in the kitchen, the branch has six young men serving their mission. The people of this (branch) are Happy and helpful. We dont belong to any stake; we are under the mission of San Juan Puerto Rico. The closest temple is the Dominican Republic temple


Si usted se pregunta si hay capillas SUD en Tortola, la respuesta es ¡SÍ! Hay un pequeño rama en toda la isla. Se encuentra ubicado en el tercer piso de la Reina Virgen Restaurante en road town nos reunimos de 10 am a 12 pm, es tan pequeño que la única habitación que hay lo tienen dividido en cuatro después de la reunión sacramental. Primer y tercer domingo tenemos la sociedad de socorro y / o sacerdocio, segundo y cuarto domingo tenemos escuela dominical. Sólo tenemos dos horas de servicios.
La primaria se reúne en la cocina, la rama tiene seis jóvenes que sirven a su misión. La gente de este (sucursal) son felices y servicial. Nosotros no pertenece a ningún juego; estamos bajo la misión de San Juan Puerto Rico. El templo mas cercano es el de La Republica Dominicana.

One day we went for dinner, nice people the food is good and smoothie wow! really good. Capriccio is an italian cafe, it's a great place to enjoy a quick bite and watch the world go by.

Un dia fuimos a cenar, personas muy buenas la comida estaba rica y los smoothie wow! bien ricos.  Capriccio es un cafe italiano, es un lugar donde disfruta un pequeno pica y mirar el mundo pasar.

Alex chose one smothie of passion fruit and i had mango, WAS DELICIOUS!!!

Capriccio is located in road town waterfront, just across from the ferry dock. They have breakfast, lunch and dinner all day long.

Capriccio esta localizado en road town frente al agua, al frente de la estacion del ferry. Ellos tienen desayuno, almuerzo y cena todo el dia.

Road Town is the capital of the British virgin island the spacious beautiful harbour at road town, is a busy center of island life and marine activity. All roads lead to road town, as businesses, cruise ships, charter boats, hotels, shops... all are here in road town.

 Between the cruise pier and the ferry port lies there is the crafts marketplace, a selection of brightly colored shops. The BVI does not offer tax-free shopping.

Road Town es la capital de la isla virgen británica el amplio puerto hermoso en la ciudad de road town, es un bullicioso centro y la actividad marina. Todos los caminos conducen a la ciudad de road town, ya que las empresas, cruceros, barcos de alquiler, hoteles, tiendas ... todos están aquí en road town. 

  Entre el muelle de cruceros y el puerto de ferrys se encuentra allí el mercado de artesanías, una selección de tiendas de colores brillantes. Las Islas Vírgenes Británicas no ofrece impuestos al comprar en estas tiendas.

Main St, Road town deserves a special tour. Crammed into the base of a hillside, on the a narrow strip of flat land before part of the harbour wast filled. Main Street contains several historical landmarks including the Post Office built in the mid 1800s, St. George's Anglican Church, Britannic Hall, the Virgin Islands' Folk Museum and her majesty's prison.

Main Street, Road town merece una visita especial. Hacinados en la base de una colina, en una estrecha franja de terreno llano antes de que llenaran  la parte del puerto. Main Street contiene varios monumentos históricos, como la oficina de correos construida a mediados de 1800, la Iglesia Anglicana de St. George, Britannic Hall, Museo Popular de las Islas Vírgenes y her majesty's pricion.

Her Majesty's Prison, As the oldest building in Road Town, this prison experienced the execution of Auther W. Hodge on May 8th, 1811 for the murder of a slave.

The post office in tortola provides a number of services to the general public. They have the same services that we have in US; stamps, international services, money orders, po boxes and more...

They have EZONE is a new internet shopping delivery service. If you go to receive personal mail you need a PO BOX but in the island they dont have enough po boxes and you have to fill out an application then they put you on a waiting list, which can take years before you have a po box.

La oficina de correos en tortola ofrece una serie de servicios al público en general. Ellos tienen los mismos servicios que tenemos en EE.UU.; sellos, servicios internacionales, giros postales, apartados postales y más

Tienen EZONE es un nuevo servicio de entrega de las compras por Internet. Si usted va a recibir el correo personal usted necesita un apartado postal pero en la isla no tienen suficientes apartados postales y usted tiene que llenar una solicitud y luego te ponen en una lista de espera, que puede tomar años antes de tener un apartado postal.

 

We receive our mail at alex's work, if you have a company on the island you can easily receive mail. No one receives mail in their homes.

In tortola only have three mobile companies- CCT, LIME AND DIGICEL- they offer similar prepaid plans and monthly plans. All three phone operators can be found within a few steps from road town roundabout. The smarts phone arrived in the island 2-3 years ago. Everybody have smart phones.

En tortola solo tienen tres companias de telefono- CCT, LIME AND DIGIGEL- ellos ofrecen similares ofertas de telefonos prepagados y mensuales. Los tres operadores puedes encontrarlo solo a algunos pasos en la rotonda de road town. Los telefonos inteligentes llegaron a la isla 2-3 anos atras. Todo el mundo tiene telefonos inteligentes.

This companie provides phone services and internet, of the three companies It is the most famous, we got our phone prepaid with lime and it's ridiculous how expensive are the minutes when we call united states. They have signs everywhere of "top-up" minutes for you to fill, Monthly plans are expensive and internet too.

Esta compania proporciona servicio de telefono y internet, de las tres companias esta es la mas famosa, nosotros activamos nuestros telefonos prepagados con lime y es ridiculo cuan caro son los minutos cuando llamamos a los estados unidos. Ellos tienen signos en todas partes de "top-up" para rellenar tus minutos, planes mensuales son caros y el internet tambien.

This company only offers phone services, prepaid and monthly services. Differences in the company of lime and digicel (price) digicel offers the same plans as lime only digicel have one or two dollars less of difference. They also have top-up

This company offer phone service and internet. CCT have the best internet signal and price. We have with cct internet service in our house alex bought a MIFI is the name for portable devices from wireless that work as mobile hotspots. A MIFI enables other wi-fi devices in range to reach the internet via its cellular connection.

The service is new in tortola, they are having problems with the service because is new with have days with internet and days with out services.

We recently found out that CCT have post paid plan that allow us to call our families in US for an affordable price, so we are planing in change my phone to CCT.

The glorious thing that US residents discover is that unlike in the US mobile phone customers only pay for outgoing calls, so family and friends can call or skype our BVI number and it costs us nothing! 

Este compania ofrece servio de telefono y internet. CCT tiene la mejor señal de internet y el precio. Nosotros tenemos con CCT servicio de internet en nuestra casa alex compró un MIFI es el nombre de los dispositivos portátiles de wireless que funcionan como puntos de acceso móviles. A MIFI permite a otros dispositivos Wi-Fi dentro del alcance para llegar a la Internet a través de su conexión celular. 

El servicio es nuevo en tortola, y están teniendo problemas con el servicio ya que es nuevo, nosotros tenemos dias con internet y día sin servicios. 

Recientemente nos enteramos de que CCT han puesto remunerado plan que nos permite llamar a nuestros familiares en EE.UU. por un precio asequible, por lo que yo planeo en cambiar mi teléfono para CCT. 

Lo glorioso que los residentes de Estados Unidos an descubierto es que a diferencia de los clientes de telefonía móvil de los EE.UU. sólo pagan por las llamadas salientes, por lo que la familia y amigos pueden llamar o skype nuestro número de BVI y no nos cuesta nada!

CINEPLEX, Tortola

U.P'S CINEPLEX  is located in the heart of road town, tortola and is best known for its five movie theaters, a bowling alley, pool hall and bar, game center for kids, a roller skating in a large ballroom on the top floor and a large food area with a sit down dining area.

U.P'S CINEPLEX esta localizado en el corazon de la ciudad de road town, tortola y es mejor conocido por sus cinco salas de cine, una bolera, salon de billar y bar, centro de juego para los ninos, una pista de patinaje sobre ruedas en un gran salon de baile en la planta superior y una amplia zona de comida con un salon con mesas para sentarce.

On Saturday May 3rd was the premiere of Spider-Man 2 in the Caribbean and we won two tickets to come see it. We did't find a babysitter so we brought the kids with us and (surprise) we were not the only ones to brought kids everyone brought small children to the movies. And we realize that this is a good place to come with our family and nobody complains about it. We were happy to be here. 

El sabado 3 de mayo fue el estreno de el hombre arana 2 en el caribe y ganamos dos entradas para venir a verlo. No encontramos una ninera, asi que lo trajimos nuestros ninos con nosotros y para nuestra sorpresa no fuimos los unicas personas en traer ninos, todas las personas en el cine trajeron sus ninos pequenos. Y nosotros realizamos que este es un buen lugar de venir en familia y nadie se queja por traer sus ninos. Estabamos felices de estar aqui.

The chairs are very comfortable and the theater had balconies where people could sit. 

Actually weekends this place is FULL of people, happy and friendly. 

When the movie starts everybody cheering and clap when ends well...

Las sillas son muy comodas y el teatro tenia balcones donde personas podian sentar.

En realidad los fines de semana este lugar esta LLENO de personas, Felices y amables.

Cuando la pelicula comienza todas las personas aplauden cuando termina tambien..

Everything is not Perfect, popcorn are expensive and this bag is the biggest they sell. All drinks are small. We like this place and we know a little more were we can spend time in family 

Todo no es Perfecto, las palomitas de maiz son caras y esta bolsa es la mas grande que vende. Bebida solo tienen pequenos. Nos gusta este lugar y ya sabemos un poco mas de donde podemos pasar tiempo en familia.
