Whenever I see a pirate movie or read about pirates I'm a little jealous of the cool life of a pirate. They go anywhere at any time looking for adventure.
And Why not having a little bit of pirate in my life?
Before we married, Alex and I had talked about traveling the world on a sailboat , I know that sounds crazy for any person who lives their life doing the same thing every day, every month and every year. We do normal things like any other person, we have had normal jobs, responsibilities, school... the only difference is that we love ADVENTURE. Since we got married in 2010 we have lived in Hawaii, Arizona, Maine, Boston, Washington state and now we moved to the Caribbean (Tortola BVI). Like a pirate looking for our dreams and passion.
We have almost a year of living in Tortola and we always dream of having a little boat to take and explore the islands. We move a lot I know, but we move because of school and jobs and we enjoy looking for awesome places to learn, grow and explore.

Recently we Bought a Boat, Her name is Fresh Breeze (For Now). She is a 52 ft schooner built of fiberglass in 1979. Our dream was to own a boat since we have been together, so we found an opportunity here in the BVI to buy one. This particular boat is big enough to live on.
Why you buy a boat and not a house?
1. We are living in the Caribbean and we are not sure if we are going to stay more than a couple years 2. Rent is very expensive here and we will cut our living expenses in half by living on a boat 3. You can't take your house and sail it to a neighboring island for a weekend adventure and 4. Why not?
We are planning in living on our boat. Yes!! The four of us, I know a lot of people get nervous when we say that, but believe me it is not a problem. We are not the first ones doing this. And for now we are just going to live on the boat and sail it to the island close by (nothing big yet).
It is going to be interesting because the boys will need to wear life jacket most of the time, they will only have a little space to play, no more long baths, no toys on deck (that is more for Danny boy) he likes to throw toys from our balcony.
Now I need to learn how to drive the dingy so I can get out of the house whenever I want. I'm so happy for this part because I don't need to wait for Alex to get home and take us to the park, or to the pool or for a walk, now I can do it with my boys with out walking the hill up and down without stroller carrying one in my back and the other one on front went he is tired of walking. We are going to have a new lifestyle, and new way of doing things and we are excited or that.
Living on a boat is going to be a simple life, our home is going to be small and that means less "stuff", living on a boat means you have waterfront property, you get to see sunrises and sunsets all the time, a beautiful skyline (falling asleep with the moon and the stars), living on a boat means freedom, and love for the water . So WHY we are going to live a-board our boat? Because we can!
Our boat needs some updates that we are going to do little by little while we live on board.
We are so happy and excited for this new life, we are planning on moving aboard as soon as possible. We need to paint the bottom before we put it in the water and we are going to launch the boat on March 16 (this coming Monday). After we have the boat in the water we are going to move our things on board. Here are a few pictures of our boat so you can see it before we put it in the water and we change a few things. Enjoy!
